A TEENAGER has pleaded not guilty to murdering 15-year-old schoolboy John Marsh.
Matthew Briers, of Hempstead Close, Sutton Heath, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday via video link from Hindley Young Offenders Institute.
He is accused of murdering John Marsh, from Gladstone Street, St Helens on Saturday, November 21.

YOUNG substitute Dave Willoughby slotted a stoppage-time winner to move Landkey Town out of the Journal League Senior Division relegation zone.
More used to playing in goal this season, Willoughby made an impact at the other end of the pitch to sink Shamwickshire Rovers 2-1.

A TEENAGER accused of stabbing a 15-year-old schoolboy to death is due to enter a plea today.
The accused's identity had been subject to reporting restrictions while he was 17, however, he is now aged 18 and can be named as Matthew Briers, of Hempstead Close, Sutton Heath.
He is charged with murdering John Marsh, from Gladstone Street, St Helens on Saturday, November 21.

PEOPLE have just days left to comment on plans for a cinema, hotel and supermarket development in Aldershot.
The Westgate plan, which will include a seven-screen Cineworld cinema, a Morrisons supermarket, restaurants, and a 91-bed Travelodge budget hotel, was submitted to planners on February 9.
People who either want to support or object to the plans have until Wednesday, March 24 to get their comments in to Rushmoor Borough Council planners.

Police said a marsh near the road tends to flood during heavy rains, often shutting the busy commuter route.
In Haverhill, Route 97 (Winter Street) was shut down last night when the water in the Little River became dangerously high, threatening the roadway.
It will be shut until the water subsides.

The Shawsheen River could crest at over 10 feet this morning, potentially causing major flooding in the Merrimack Valley.
Torrential rain this weekend has swollen the Shawsheen, likely causing "significant flooding with risk to life and property," predicted Haverhill native Matt Noyes, a New England Cable Network meterologist, in an interview with The Eagle-Tribune last night.
